Make your videoA TikTok video maker for photos and text
Make the clip here, then post it. NeonSnap turns a line of text, or a photo you already have, into a 4 to 10 second portrait video with sound, saved as an MP4 you can download and upload to TikTok. Turn on HD and the file is 1080 by 1920 pixels, the size TikTok recommends for full-screen video. Videos are made by Gemini Omni, Google's video model, on Google Vertex AI.
How it works
- Describe your video, or add a photo Type a line or two about the scene and how it moves, or add a photo and say how it should come to life. Any picture in My Images has an Animate button that brings it here.
- Choose length, shape and quality 4, 6, 8 or 10 seconds, portrait (9:16) or landscape (16:9), standard 720p or HD 1080p. The credit cost updates as you choose, and your first video, up to 6 seconds at 720p, is free.
- Press Generate Most videos are ready in about a minute. You can leave the page; the finished video will be waiting in My Videos.
- Download it, or go again Download the MP4, or change a few words and press Generate again with the same photo and settings.
The right size for TikTok
TikTok plays full-screen video at 9:16 and recommends 1080 by 1920 pixels. Choose 9:16 and turn on HD and that is exactly the file you get. Standard 720p, 720 by 1280, uploads fine and fills the screen too, just a little softer.
What a ten second clip is for
Ten seconds is short for a whole TikTok, so use a clip as the hook in the first second, a loop that plays while the caption does the talking, an intro, or b-roll between shots of you talking to camera. Make two or three and join them in TikTok's own editor in the order you want.
Sound
Every clip comes with sound that suits the scene, and you can ask for music, speech or silence in your description. If you would rather use a sound from TikTok's library, turn the clip's own sound down in TikTok's editor after you upload it and pick one there.
Keep the subject clear of the buttons
TikTok puts its buttons down the right-hand side and the caption and username along the bottom. Keep faces and anything important near the middle of the frame and leave the lower part fairly plain. The prompt can help: "centred in the frame" and "the camera holds still" keep a subject where you put it.
Posting it
Press Download when the video is ready, or open it from My Videos later. In TikTok, tap the plus, choose Upload and pick the MP4. On a computer, upload it from TikTok Studio in your browser.
Label it as AI
TikTok asks creators to label realistic content made with AI, and a photo of a real person brought to life counts. Before you post, open More options and turn on the AI-generated content setting. TikTok says the label does not change how widely the video is shown.

Frequently asked questions
What size should a TikTok video be?
Portrait 9:16, ideally 1080 by 1920 pixels. Choose 9:16 and HD here and the MP4 comes out at exactly that size. Standard quality is 720 by 1280, which TikTok accepts and plays full-screen.
Can I make a whole TikTok with this?
Each clip is 4 to 10 seconds, so it works best as a hook, a loop, an intro or b-roll. For a longer video, make several clips and join them in TikTok's editor or any video app.
Can I use a TikTok sound instead of the clip's own?
Yes. Every clip comes with sound, but after uploading you can turn it down in TikTok's editor and add any sound from TikTok's library.
Do I have to label the video as AI on TikTok?
TikTok requires a label on realistic AI-generated content, and the AI-generated content setting under More options is how you add one. A clip made from a photo of a real person is exactly the kind it means.
Can I animate a photo for TikTok?
Yes. Add a photo and describe how it should move, for example a laugh or a smile with the camera holding still. The photo becomes the first frame, so the person, pet or product stays recognisable.
Is the AI video generator free?
Your first video is free: create an account and make a clip of up to 6 seconds at 720p, with no card needed. It works for text to video and for animating a photo. There is a daily limit on free videos across the site, so occasionally you may be asked to come back the next day. Longer and HD videos, and every video after the first, cost credits.
How much does a video cost?
Your first video is free: create an account and make a clip of up to 6 seconds at 720p, with no card needed. After that, one credit per second at 720p, so 4, 6, 8 or 10 credits. HD is 1.5 credits per second, rounded up to a whole credit, so 6, 9, 12 or 15 credits. Sound is included at no extra cost. Credits come from the same balance as the image tools and are bought in packs on the pricing page.
Where are my videos saved?
Finished videos are saved to My Videos, your private video library, as MP4 files you can play and download. Nothing is posted publicly.
What happens if a video fails?
If a video cannot be made, for example because the safety filters refused the photo or prompt, your credits are returned automatically. You are never charged for a video you do not receive.
